Autoresponder Marketing – Opt In for Future Profits

Autoresponder marketing is a fancy name for a way to reach out to prospects and convince them to become clients. Some experts believe that more than 90% of first-time visitors to a website will not return and that you have only a few seconds to capture their imagination when they arrive at your page. In addition to creating a visually enticing site with lots of good content, of course, you should consider adding an opt in box. An opt in box will contain an offer to supply the visitor with some valuable information or advice as a kind of “thank you” for visiting the page. To receive the advice, would they please enter their name and e-mail address.

An opt in box is an essential part of internet marketing for small business and a lot of effort should be put into its creation. You should always make sure that it stands out, but it should not be particularly intrusive or annoying. For example, you can use a “peel away,” which is a neat little trick and looks like the top corner of the webpage is actually peeling back. If you hover your mouse over, it does peel away and reveals the special offer. Look here at an example.

Some marketers opt for a slide in box, or slide up box or what’s called a “lighthouse” which appears when you move your mouse towards the back button or the x button to exit the page. Any way, you should do your best to get the visitor to provide you with his or her name and e-mail address.

To be sure that your campaign is compliant, you should use what is known as a “double opt in” in the world of autoresponder marketing. If you use a service to look after this for you an automatic e-mail will be sent which requires the recipient to reconfirm that they want to receive information. Only then will their names be entered into the autoresponder.

As you build a good list this way you will know that the people who have opted in to your list are really interested in receiving information from your site. You will need to provide them on a regular basis – but don’t go too crazy – some additional e-mails with good tips, hints, information, solutions, and generally entertaining and informative material. Don’t try and hard sell all the time – this plainly does not work.

Over the long haul, your e-mail recipients will get to trust the welcome information that you to send them and the chances are that due to this form of autoresponder marketing they will value you as a provider of products or services in your particular niche. Furthermore, chances are that when they want to buy something they will turn to you.
